When working in the City a team of fund managers were responsible for the investment policy of a bank. The good performance was down to them. However, because they were good they were headhunted to other firms.

However, the original bank was still able to market themselves based on the performance of the now departed fund managers.

Surely the same problem applies to a brilliant surgical team at a hospital. They get expertise, they have built up a brilliant reputation and then, they are persuaded to go to another hospital. Do you follow the surgeons to their new hospital, which may well be in the USA, Australia or New Zealand.
