Andrew Neil

I regard as what you said on the Today programme this morning as most imprtant. We are becoming two different states, those that know and are kept in the loop, and those that are meant to remain in ignorance, bit like a former king and a certain Mrs Simpson.

It is also like the situation now occuring with baby P, who died and where a report is circulated but only amongst a restricted number, who must not mention its contents.

Andrew as each day passes I become more depressed at what is happening. I wanted to stand as an Independent candidate in the upcoming local County Council elections. I now won't. I do not want to be tarred by the same brush as these less than honourable people. This is not good enough, why have our soldiers died, and injured. Let me tell me tell you. In the event of a soldier or their family receiving any compensation for death or injury then before they get their money they have to sign a confidentiality agreement to the effect that they will not talk to the press before being cleared by the MoD. Trust me, this country is the pits. In the meantime the trial of the American Master Sgt John Hatley continues in Germany.
