so we want the political commentators to be able to say without contradiction that 'as I was saying' or 'as I have been reliably informed' 'when I asked the President' etc...That is why I think that the blogs have been effectively closed to the general public. You guys are just so knowing but may I humbly supply the following quote from U S Grant in 1874-75
'it is easy to conceive that the debtor and speculative classes may think it of value to them to make so called money abundant until they can throw a portion of their burdens upon others'
Now I got that quote from the FRUS pp.[III] - XXVII.ff
My point. Nothing actually changes and nothing will change, there always has been a Global economy and there always will. It just depends on your definition of Global.
