Accountants

I must admit that I am slightly perplexed. Why is nobody saying that surely the auditors/accountants must share some of the blame for all these problems in the banking sector.

Who was it that actually signed off the accounts, that the values placed on the assets repreresented a true and fair value. Why are the questions not being asked.
