in all the furore over the banks please would you run a blog on Afghanistan, where even the former head of the SAS is now making comments relating to government policy and the allegations that the government has 'blood on its hands'.

We are retreating from Iraq. I say that because after our withdrawal the Americans are moving in, so coalition soldiers in large numbers are still needed. We must withdraw from Afghanistan, the soldiers will soon be needed at home to protect MPs and ministers from green custard throwers.
