Brown in Normandy

it must be only the Royals who go to Normandy for the D-Day celebrations. If Gordon Brown goes it will just be so politicised. He dare not attend any open public celebrations for our returning soldiers, whether dead, alive or injured he dare only do it far away from the real people. He and his political masters will insist that it shows support for soldiers, the fight for democracy, tosh, so as to avoid linking it no doubt to our defeat in Iraq, because the war was won, but the subsequent occupation has been a disaster. The stalemate in Afghanistan which Milliband explained yesterday is another admission that the optons have been closed down. What must be understood is that the cataclysm which was World War I did not start in August 1914, it had it's seeds sown many years before, the Moroccan crisis, Agadir, the build up to war with the expansion of the navies of Germany and England, we are heading in the same direction. Weak politicians banging the drums of war, Trident is not the issue, nobody can use nuclear weapons again.
